Here is
the stand, and also a picture using the FLAT tip
to place the flat stars on the bunny card. |

 |
The flat tip acts like a
mini-iron. There is no tip that will pick up the different shapes
of metals. So, you place the metals where you want them, place the
tool with the flat tip on top of the metal piece and heat through the
metal to melt the glue. |

***Our stones will not work on leather, glass,
ceramics, etc.*** |
| |
| * Pick up the crystal with a light touch.
And place it on your garment with a light touch. Always be in good
lighting, because you want to watch the glue melt. First it will
get wet looking, and then what I call "fuzzy navel"
looking. Kind of bubbly. That is the time to place the
crystal. |
| |
| * Nothing is ever made perfectly, so if the tip
won't pick up the crystal, you can place the crystal where you want it
and then place the tip around the crystal. The only thing you
aren't doing is actually picking up the crystal to place it. But
at least this way, you can still heat the crystal up quickly in place,
instead of using the flat tip. |
| |
| * If a crystal falls out of the tip, let it cool
off a little, pick it up, place it where you want it and put the tip
around it again to re-heat the glue and stabilize it more. |
| |
| * If a crystal gets stuck in the tip, place the
tip where you want the crystal to come out on the garment, and take a
t-pin or tweezer and slip it in the slits on the sides of the tip.
Wedge out the crystal, and then again, place the tip around it to
re-heat the glue and stabilize the crystal again. (This would also
be an indication that you need to clean the tip.) Also, don't
really push the tip down hard on the crystal. That might wedge it
into the tip too much and it won't release. |
| |
| * My natural tendency is to press down on the
crystal after I place it, so you might want to wear a thimble or
band-aid on your opposite finger. It is pretty warm! |
|
| * Our Swarovski crystals are just the same as
others - best quality, but, in my opinion, the glue needs to be absorbed
to be permanent and these are porous surfaces. They may work if you
don't touch or handle or wash the item afterwards. That way they would
look pretty, but wouldn't have to be as durable. We do have a lot of
customers who decorate gourds, but that is a more porous surface also. |
| |
| ** Hope these tips help! It is so much fun to use
the Bejeweler that you don't want to limit the use of it. Anything
that the glue will absorb into, you'll be able to use the Bejeweler.
Have fun!!! ** |
